Pickmere and District Photographic and Heritage Society is a
small, friendly organisation which, apart from a short winter
break, meets at 7.45 on the third Thursday of the month, at
Pickmere Village Hall, Pickmere Lane.
The group is chaired by local historian and photographer
Joseph T Robinson, who has published a number of collections
of historical photographs of the area. Joe also has a large
personal collection of local memorabilia.
The Club holds two photographic competitions each year, one
in May and the other at the Horticultural Show in Wincham
in August. Photographers of all abilities are encouraged to
enter prints both large and small - the Club fosters an interest
in photography of all kinds, from garden snapshots to formal
portraits, and does not place maximum or minimum restrictions
on print size. The interested amateur is as welcome as the
experienced photographer.
Guest speakers are invited to give slide shows or talks,
and historical exhibitions put on from time to time by Joe
Robinson always attract a good number of visitors.
