Royal
May Day in Knutsford is an annual event which dates back to 1864.
The modern day festivals still recreate the customs upon which
it is based, including unique traditions such as 'sanding' the
streets. May Day in Knutsford earned its 'Royal' title in 1887
courtesy of the then
Prince and Princess of Wales and today attracts
thousands of visitors every year. This year
Ella Clarke has been
chosen to be crowned Knutsford's Royal May
Queen. Ladies in Waiting,
Zoe Sharples and Emily Bowcock along with
the Court Ladies, Olivia Millet, Hazel Redhead, Katie Smith
and jessica Dytham were also
chosen to take part in the crowning ceremony. George
Drury, who
was last years Sword Bearer now has the honour of carrying the
crown takes part as Crown Bearer for this year
